Julia Allworth
Julia Allworth had a real eye-opener after graduating University when she was diagnosed with a moderate case of Attention Deficit Disorder. It certainly explained her inability to focus and her impulsivity. But it also shows the resourcefulness she used in managing the symptoms that had plagued her since childhood.
Julia spent several years working her way through the ranks of the recreation department in the Town of Oakville as a teenager and went from Day Camp Counselor to Area Manager of the Summer camps. She loved working with children, and had more than enough energy and creativity to keep them occupied. After high school she attended The University of Western Ontario in London, graduating four years later with her Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology.
She was always interested in what made people tick. Always introspective and in touch with her own thoughts and feelings, she compared them to others around her and was continually amazed that she thought and felt so different form others. Frustrated with her lack of focus in studying, she still managed to achieve her goals using massive amounts of mental energy and determination. Now Julia is the owner of ADDvocacy - an organization providing coaching and support to individuals with Attention Deficit Disorder.
