The first series of open fishing boats was developed in 1974. They ranged from 4.8 m (16 ft) to 9 m (30 ft) for use in inshore and coastal fishery. They were initially utilizing the local timber of standard commercial sizes. Planking was done with boards of uniform width to simplify building and reduce wastage. The hull shape was well adapted to economical, low powered engines. In the current scenario, plywood has maintained its role as a material well adapted to use in small-scale boat building.

The Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Jets will be opening training camps on Thursday July 20th. These two teams will be the first ones in doing so this year followed by Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans next Sunday. It is expected that by July 30th all teams will be training in the camps.

Dwight Smith was released by the New Orleans Saints last Thursday and he will probably start with another team by the end of this week: the Minnesota Vikings. Apparently he has been meeting with this team's coaches and officials since last Monday.

Last week Formula One driver Juan Pablo Montoya announced that he had signed with Chip Ganassi for the next Nascar season which means Mclaren will have to find a new partner for Fernando Alonso for the 2007 season.
