A Yellow Silicone Wristband
by Zhang Xiaoguang
The Livestrong wristband is a yellow silicone wristband (a gel bracelet) launched in May of 2004 as a fund-raising item for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, founded by cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The wristband itself was developed by Nike and their ad agency Wieden+Kennedy.
I am sure this is not new to most of the American people, especially John Edwards wore a Livestrong wristband while campaigning in burgh, Pennsylvania on Labor Day 2007, which has enlarged the popularity of this yellow silicone wristband. As a cancer sufferer, Lance Armstrong has created wonders again and again in the Tour de France. He won 7 titles that was never seen historically in all and planed to come back to attend the upcoming the 96th Tour de France. He is pushing 38 and his comeback would bring about great challenges to other cyclist.
"What a great player!" His courage and strength of will are really extraordinary, which has made me a staunch support of him. As known to all, he was once stricken with cancer. The final results proved that he was so short-sighted then and underrated Lance Armstrong's strength and courage. As a result, he had to lose a yellow silicone wristband to me as the stakes, which he ordered at
