Jazil and the Belmont Stakes

The 138th Belmont Stakes race was held in Elmont, New York and it was won by Jazil the #8 horse ridden by Fernando Jara, getting the $1 million at the Belmont Park.
The race was held last June 10, 2006.

Jazil came from last place accelerating to run down Bluegrass Cat winning the race. The horse was trained by Kiaran McLaughlin for the Shadwell Stable of Hamdan bin Rashid al-Maktum. The trainer took a few minutes to admire Barbaro that is still recovering from the fracture that took him away from the horse track.

Jazil is a thoroughbred horse which also was on the fourth place at the Kentucky Derby but at the end of the Triple Crown he captured the final with the Belmont victory.

Jazil obtained this triumph in a One and a Half Miles Distance, and its condition is considered "Fast" but turning back time let's see some of the races he has ran and the places Jazil has reached:

-Maiden at Aqueduct Racetrack: 6th place
-Maiden at Aqueduct Racetrack: 2nd place
-Maiden at Aqueduct Racetrack: 1st place
-Allowance at Gulfstream Park: 2nd place
-Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park: 7th place
-Wood Memorial Stakes at Aqueduct Racetrack: 2nd place
-Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs: 4th place
-Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park: 1st place
