Major League Baseball Tickets
by Damian Sofsian
Tickets to games featuring major league baseball teams like the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees are invariably sold out in advance.
Team Marketing Report's (www.teammarketing.com) exclusive Fan Cost Index survey tracks the cost of attendance for a family of four to a major league baseball game. The average ticket price is calculated as a weighted average of season ticket prices for general seating categories, determined by factoring the tickets in each price range as a percentage of the total number of seats in each ballpark. The FCI includes: two adult average price tickets; two child average price tickets; four small soft drinks; two small beers; four hot dogs; two programs; parking; and two adult-size caps. Per their 2005 survey, an average MLB ticket cost $21.17 and the FCI came to $164.43.
A good place on the Internet to find tickets for major league baseball events is the official MLB site, MLB.com.
Stubhub.com is a popular site where fans buy and sell tickets. Here, sellers post their extra tickets for sale to other fans, and buyers get to choose tickets from a wide range of seats and prices. StubHub guarantees that buyers get the tickets in time for the event. Their Buyer Guarantee ensures that if for some reason the buyer does not receive the tickets they asked for, StubHub will provide comparable or better tickets for the same purchase price, or refund the money.
Tickco.com offers spring training tickets, MLB regular season tickets, MLB all star game tickets, and World Series tickets.
TicketsNow.com is another great source for MLB tickets and MLB playoff tickets, including World Series tickets. Webtickets.com and Fatlens.com are other popular sites to find tickets to the best games on the MLB calendar.
