Like a wedding, a business deals with people. So, it is proper to give useful gifts. Various people can give business gifts on various occasions. To elaborate, employees can present gifts to employers, and vice-versa. Announcements like pay hikes or extra perks for employees are gift-giving occasions. In return, to honor the employer, you can chalk out a few ideas for gifts. You can throw up a surprise party to cheer him. Typically, business gifts are the most formal of the kinds of gifts discussed so far. Hence, there does exist a standard etiquette for choosing and presenting a business gift.

One should not forget the role played by executives, who may be founders, shareholders, investors, board of directors, members, etc. They form the highest strata in an organization and hence should be kept in good spirits. There are "executive gifts" available exclusively for such people. Gifts like leather wallets, bags, briefcases, conference pads or roller pens are a good choice.

As far as personalized gifts are concerned, quality has definitely an upper hand over quantity. To sum up, concentrate on the appropriateness of your gift for the occasion and double-check that you have added your personal note to it.
