Diet pills can cure obesity!
by Brayn Adam
The study for curing obesity has been going on for many years. Scientists have tried to understand why some men eat more than the others and ways to control it. Obesity research has shown when it comes to appetite; certain hormones, enzymes and genes all play a role in signaling the brain when it's time to eat.
The latest in that is the hormone Ghrelin. American researchers proved its role in appetite in 2000. Ghrelin is produced in the stomach and when delivered to the brain, tells the body to eat immediately. Research showed that by finding a way to artificially reduce the level of Ghrelin in the blood, they hope to produce a new anti-obesity diet pill that will turn off the body's demand to eat.
Some advanced weight lossdiet pills are under development like Rimonabant from Sanofi. These diet pills are under trials and likely to reach the market in the next few years.
These are all prescription diet pills and cannot be made available without the doctor's prescription. These pills are regulated by the FDA. Their side effects are monitored and they may be advertised and prescribed for weight loss under certain conditions and in certain pill dosages. For example Meridian, Xenical, Adipex, Bontril, Didrex, Phentermine diet pills, and Phendimetrazine.
There are two types of prescription diet pills:
- Appetite Suppressors, and,
- Lipase inhibitors or fat blockers.
Appetite suppressors work by interacting with chemicals in the brain that signal hunger. By blocking these chemicals from sending any signal, you don't feel hungry and therefore don't eat.
Lipase inhibitors work by blocking the action of specific enzymes in the digestive tract that break down fat. If fat is not broken down to sufficiently small molecules, it can't be absorbed into the blood and it stays in the intestine.
Prescription diet pills are not intended to replace conventional diet and weight loss programs. These prescription diet pills are easily available through various online pharmacies. One can buy cheap diet pills through these online pharmacies as they are available in half the prices online compared to the pharmacist in the neighborhood. One should ensure before buying diet pills online that one has the doctor's prescription as most of these prescription diet pills have serious side effects.
The non prescription drugs are available over the counter and are available without the doctor's prescription and are available in any local drugstore or supermarket. There are herbal diet supplements which are also available without a prescription. One can find variety of these in health food and nutrition stores as well as in regular supermarkets.
