In times like these, where media populates the mind with thoughts that transition into beliefs of scarcity and fear, it's refreshing to know that we still live in a world full of abundance.

There are many people that sway into the conscious and subconscious belief that things, resources and opportunities around them are 'scarce'. The truth is- if that's what you believe and buy into mentally and emotionally- then that is your truth. That is your reality.

From a divine, worldly, spiritual and universal perspective though- our resources are abundant. They always have been - and they still are.

So what's the give? If abundance is perpetual and voluminous, then why is there so much commotion and mental energy behind the scarcity thinking? There is an easy answer- but a deeper understanding is needed if you want to get rid of the fearful, scarcity driven mindset that you are being influenced by.

The short answer is this: as humans, we are taught, influenced, instructed and persuaded by other peoples input since the day we were born. Our brain is like a sponge. It picks up everything that goes on around us. We just may not realize it on a conscious level. You truly are the product of your surroundings. Many of the choices you make, your current understanding and current belief systems stem from, and are a compilation result of everything you've ever been exposed to or have learned.

The bad news is- if you were exposed along the way to a lot of negative input ( it's all around us every day- TV, radio, newspapers, family, friends, etc)- then you are conditioned to tuning into those negative, scarcity and often fear based belief systems. When we're exposed to more negative input - whether we are aware of it or not- those new ideas, thoughts feel right at home in our mental 'field'. It's easy for us to give validity to those beliefs because there's comfort in it.

The good news- if you don't like what you just learned- know this: once you have an awareness of what is actually happening to you by your input, by what you feed your brain-you can change it if you choose to!! That's powerful!

It's not always easy at first if you to want to eradicate the negative input in your life. Why should you? If your life is filled with drama, 'issues', things that go wrong or bring frequent frustration or un-fulfillment into your life- and you're tired of it- then there's only one way to truly make a paradigm shift to allow permanence of changes to occur in your life. You need to make the choice first that you want to change.

Next, once you start to change your input, your results with then shift accordingly. (It's kind of like the 'garbage in/garbage out' concept. What you put into your brain, life, body, etc- you'll get out.)

So-how does this all tie into the Art of Making Money? It's right here- you need to start to be aware of what your thought process on a daily basis. If you're one of those people running scared and feeling fear and doom take over your thoughts because of what the current media is propounding us with as it relates to the economy- then it's time to turn off the news.

Start to look around you. Take inventory of your life. What is it that you have? What are you thankful for? What are you grateful for? Have you acknowledged that? If not- do so. It will start the mind shift to abundance and prosperity.

The bible says: "For I have not given you the spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a sound mind". (This does not say- I've given you a mind of fear, defeat and instability!)

"For I have not given you the spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a sound mind" is a universal law. It does not change. You just need to understand it and believe it if you want to harness the power behind it.

If you want to understand one key foundational rule in The Art of Making Money- you need to understand that you have to control your thinking and your input. If you are running on fear right now- then your focus is on what you don't have. If you think you don't have the ability to make money, you won't. Shift that focus onto what you do have - and change your input. Get rid of the fear, and focus on the belief that abundance is everywhere. You deserve a piece of it too.

Embrace that thought, focus on feeding your brain with positive, reassuring, strength building knowledge and people that will allow you to tap into the world's abundance too. See the abundance before it appears in your life. Then watch the doors of opportunity open to you. Last- walk through those opportunities when they appear. You need to take action to grab hold of the abundance. If opportunity comes- but you don't move on it, ask yourself why. Is fear still holding you back? If so, reach out to those that are willing to show you a better way.
