Halloween is celebrated on the night of October 31, especially by children dressing in costumes and going door-to-door collecting candies. Although celebrated in much of the Western world, its observance is most common in the United States, Puerto Rico, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Australia and New Zealand also celebrate Halloween.
Halloween's theme involves death, magic, and monsters, making it spooky or scary. The characters usually associated with Halloween include ghosts, ghouls, witches, bats, black cats, owls, spiders, goblins, zombies, skeletons and demons, as well as fictional figures like Dracula and Frankenstein's monster. No wonder homes are often decorated with these symbols as part of Halloween. Traditionally, Halloween's colors have been black and orange, though in modern times purple, green, and red have also gained prominence. The symbols of Halloween also reflect the elements of the autumn season, like pumpkins and scarecrows.
Halloween wallpapers were first developed in 1990, the first being the "flying toaster", created by Dr. Jack Eastman, and in 1991 the first holiday wallpaper screensaver was made - the "flying pumpkin". So much mystery and arcane rituals are parts of Halloween that wallpaper options also tend to be scary. Millions of people celebrate the occasion by putting up different Halloween wallpapers.
