seven items so that you yourself can make a good print catalog on your own
1. Knowing the customers
The biggest concept that you should know is that you must know your customers. Any catalog be it a clothing catalog or a gadget catalog must be designed and printed in such away that is most appealing to its target market. It must have hallmarks in its design that uniquely relates to its target demographics so that the readers have a fun and very engaging time in reading the catalog. So make sure you talk the talk of your customers and you know the things they like to see. Apply these ideas to your catalog designs to make it more effective.
2. Always use color images
Another important element is color. While sometimes this can be a trivial and superficial choice for other people, color images are undoubtedly a very good tool for catalog printing. Products and services will always look better when shown in color. People respond to color and they can be unconsciously influenced by color when they look at products and other information. That is why you always have to invest in color printing if you want your catalog to be competitive.
3. Design as a whole catalog
Also, you must remember that your design and layout must be made as a whole catalog. You are not building a design around your products or services. You are building a catalog with important design elements that presents your products and services as a whole. With this kind of philosophy a catalog will always look better and more complete when you compare it to other catalogs that are too full with themselves and their products.
4. Keep it simple and functional
In terms of the layout itself and the catalog messages, it is best to just keep things simple and functional. You are not making impressionist art here. You are making a tool that helps people shop and buy products. So make it as painless as possible to them by simplifying your layout in the most functional way as possible.
5. Do not make it crowded
Another thing in terms of the layout, it is always best to not overcrowd your catalog. All products must be equally spaced and the number of products for each page must not be too much. A cramped catalog is a sign of not being a professional and it makes the catalogs look too cluttered and very tiring to read. So, if your layout seems to be getting a little too crowded invest in another page rather than forcing things to fit in just one.
6. Be thematic
Do not also forget to have themes for each kind of catalog printing. People are usually more interested in catalogs with themes since they mostly have things that people need for that particular occasion. Also, themes are generally good to implement and it makes the designs more festive, giving the good impression that the company is supportive of the celebrations on that day.
7. Include a way to order
Finally, all catalogs must have an order form or instructions on how to order the products and services. This encourages people to buy your products immediately getting you more sales in the process from the catalog.
You now know the seven fundamental aspects of catalog printing. Integrate all this in your catalog process and yours should come out good and effective without problems.
