Combining The Old With The New

many people like to view marketing as a choice between the older forms of marketing and the newer ones
The problem comes from people trying to focus on only one or the other. Many people start to look at only the newer forms of marketing as viable ones. After all, a lot more people are using the older marketing methods, so they are naturally going to be less likely to stand out in a large pool of companies who are constantly marketing.
In some ways this is going to be true that the newer forms of marketing will stand out more. When on one else has done something before more people will take notice of it, and you will be able to generate more attention than you might have otherwise.
But the new marketing methods carry with them other pitfalls to be aware of. The less tested a marketing strategy is the greater the chance is that you will not generate the kind of business you were looking for. You are naturally going to be taking more of a risk, and some companies just are not going to be able to take that chance. They need each marketing campaign to be successful in order to help make the next one happen.
This does not mean you should completely avoid new forms of marketing. Instead find a good combination of both new and old styles of marketing. Use poster printing while also taking advantage of some internet advertising.
What you are going to be able to do is ensure a certain amount of success with tactics like poster printing so you'll never have to risk not generating the sales you need. Something like posters have been around for so long you can be confident that you are going to have some success with it, because they have proven to be effective at marketing companies.
Something else to consider as well is figuring out new ways to use existing forms of marketing. Maybe you need to find a way to improve some on your poster printing rather than discard it completely as outdated.
Another thing to look at is how many people in your particular industry are using certain methods of marketing. It might be the case that no one is really bothering with posters even though they will have a good chance at working. Now you can use something new that no one else is using, but you are still sticking to an older form of marketing.
My main point is that marketing is not so black and white. Something new might not always work, and something old can be turned into something new if used in the right context. It is up to you to figure out what will work for your business.
