strong visual appeal is just a part of what poster printing is.

How often are you really looking at the wall as you walk down a hallway? How important are your surroundings to you when you do not need to really be paying attention to them?

I am not constantly glancing at the wall or even really paying attention to what is around me when walking through a store or other various public places. My mind is going to be on the task at hand and nothing else.

This is the challenge that any company who gets poster printing done needs to be aware of. People are not going to be going out of their way to look at your custom posters. They do not go into a store with posters on their mind, and unless you give them a very good reason to, their eyes are never really going to see that poster on the wall.

Sure, they may see it in the literal sense of the word, but their mind will not take it in, because they are not really thinking about it. Your job is to break through whatever is currently on their mind in order to make your poster their top priority.

This is not a very easy task, and if you want to grab someone you have a variety of different options open to you.

The first is the strong image. A picture is going to be a great way to latch someone's attention onto your poster. If the image is good enough people are instinctively going to have their eyes drawn to your poster whether they were intending to look at it or not.

The next way is by having a strong title of phrase across the front of your poster. This needs to be very short and to the point so people can process it as quickly as possible. In fact, the best ones allow you to process it without even trying. All it takes is a glance in order to understand what the message is. This allows for a person to be hooked quickly and from only a second's worth of attention.

The last primary method cannot really be pinpointed, because it revolves around giving people something unique. You hand them an image or phrase so unique they just have to take the time to look over and see what you have to say. I obviously will not be able to give a lot of examples of something you cannot really define, now could I, so I am afraid you are a bit on your own in this area.

Strong visual appeal is just a part of what poster printing is. If you are not aware of that then you probably should not be using posters. They can be wonderfully successful, but it is a touch road. You need to understand what makes for a good poster in order to get a person to bother reading what you have to say.
