HDTV televisions need special antennas to be able to catch the frequency. These televisions cannot receive the transmission from normal antennas used by any other brand of color television. Too high a signal would be as bad just as too little of the transmission. One would need to see that the antenna delivers the finest picture quality by the way it has been set up.
