What has been a pastime of millions to seek refuge within a world of unceasing pressure and anxiety? Here's the answer that you have either grown to love or maybe should seek to have a time of respite every so often!

The pressure is on for many of us throughout the day during which the burdens of family and work take its toll. Our existence is frought with the tensions that are upon us now together with the worries of an uncertain tomorrow. What is one way to tranquilize our existence making life a more bearable situation? Movies!

Why has a trip to the movie theater or a rental brought into your home been such a pacifier against stressful living? They are simply an escape from reality into the land of our imaginary desires. This refuge could be a world of romance, car-crashing action, good vs. evil, tearful cleansing, comedy, solid documentary, Christian living or any theme that gets our minds on to a more satisfying path of thinking.

How many of us treasure a classic such as "Gone With The Wind" or "Casablanca" or enjoy works starring the legends of Jimmy Stewart, James Cagney or Judy Garland? The motivating factor behind this type of entertainment comes from our need to become a part of another world. This world somehow transforms us from a former one of anxiety to one that best satisfies the gaps that we search to fill.

Remember when your favorite movie was scheduled to appear on television? Or when your favorite star had a new blockbuster coming out soon? You were then preparing yourself to launch into a new realm apart from the one that surrounds you. You began preparation to have your mind transported to a new reality to refresh your life. You knew that an escape hatch was in the waiting. Your goal was to take that route for a couple of hours and relish every minute of it.

Haven't had the inclination to go the movie route during your off-hours? Maybe you're due to take a proverbial time-out and consider the benefits of leaving this world for a spell and going on a mission to search for a film that will satisfy a tad your sense of emotion, adventure and imagination. I hope to see you there!
