Everyone is waiting the most important event in the sport world which only happens every 4 years!
This tournament is going to be held in Germany and guess what? …The opening match will be between the hosting country, Germany and Costa Rica. Probably too many people are thinking that Costa Rica as a small country and that it may not be a good opponent for Germany, but be aware… remember this small country still has big things to unveil.
The match will be on June 9, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. local hour at the Allianz Arena Stadium, both teams belong to Group A in which Poland and Ecuador also take part of it.
After their friendly match against Czech Republic, the Costa Rican team returned today to Walldorf-Germany, and during the remaining days the team will get ready for the awaited debut on the World Cup.
Costa Rica is not a stranger team at the World Cup; they have qualified for this world tournament twice. In one of the previous Cups, in Italy 1990 the current coach Alexandre Guimaraes was a player.
The winning prize of the World Cup 2006 will get 24.5 million Swiss Francs ($18.75 million) and a gigantic recognition around the world.
