All the dreams that have come and gone;
All the memories that will live on and on.
Graduation Day is here.

All the dreams that have come and gone;
All the memories that will live on and on.
High School days we thought would last forever;
All the time we thought we'd be together.
Time seemed to slip by and then go away;
Now it's graduation day.
So many times we laughed and we shared;
So many times we said I love you and I care.
The happiness, the sadness and the fights galore;
All these things were wrapped into one and more.
Time seemed to slip by and then go away;
Now it's graduation day.
So many times wondering if we'll remember what we've learned;
The credits, the honors and the scholarships we've earned.
The trips, the sneak days, cutting a class;
For all these years we thought they'd never pass.
Time seemed to slip by, and then go away;
Now it's graduation day.
And so my friends I want to dedicate this to you;
For the good times and the sad, yes there's been a few of those too.
The tears streak down my face, the memories to stay;
Because now my friends, it's graduation day. By Jaci Rae

Just about a month from now I'm set adrift, with a diploma for a sail and lots of nerve for oars. ~Richard Halliburton

An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest. ~Benjamin Franklin

Graduation Day is a time for sober celebrations (by that I mean forget the drinking, too many grads end up dead). A time to reflect on past accomplishments and gaze into a future wide open with many possibilities.

When you are walking down to receive your diploma, turn, smile and wave at the crowd as there may never be such a big crowd that cheers for you again. From now on you will be your own cheering section, your own ship, your own captain and your destiny is yours to choose. Choose wisely, for today will be the rest of your life and the rest of your life is what lay ahead of you.

Pat yourself on the back for making it this far but don't spend too much time patting yourself on the back that you forget to accomplish future goals. Remember that history has shown that the "geeks" in High School have sometimes been the most successful and popular people on the planet. Look at Christina Aguilera or Bill Gates. If you spend too much time reflecting on what happened and celebrating the past, you won't have time for today and tomorrow. Live in the moment, because the moment is a beautiful place.
