the common problems in color printing and the simple solutions to solve them

Color printing can be a complicated process sometimes. If you are a novice to it, you might have difficulty having that online printing company produce the materials you want in the correct colors that you need. Many problems like this happen regularly in color printing, so you should not really worry. In fact, a lot of these things happen so frequently, that sometimes it is easy to anticipate. As a guide, we have created this article to help novices like you avoid the common problems in color printing.

Below is a list of some of the common problems in color printing and the simple solutions to solve them.

Problem 1: Unsure of quality.
One of the most common problems in online color printing is assurance. No one really knows how their color printing job will turn out until they receive the prints themselves. This means a lot of trust is put forth by the customer to the online printing company. Many novices do not like putting out that kind of trust early on in the printing relationship. This of course may hinder you to choose the best printing company for your prints, leaving you with limited or no options at all to color printing.

Solution: Look at sample printing.
The solution to this problem is simple. Do not be shy, and ask for sample prints. In most cases, printing companies will not think twice in giving a potential customer a sample of their printed work. This is an opportunity for them to advertise their skill and services in printing. So ask for a sample print to analyze. If your taste and standards matches the actual prints, then you should have no issues at all when they do print your own order.

Problem 2: Incorrect colors.
Another common problem in color printing is the production of incorrect colors. You may see a specific color in your computer screen in terms of the design of your prints, but this might not be necessarily the ones that got printed physically in the paper. This occurs when there is a mismatch between the main color format of the printer, and the color format of the designer itself.

Solution: Set your software correctly.
To correct this problem, you have to set your imaging software correctly before sending it up to the online printer. Ask your printer on the particular color settings that they use for prints. In most cases though, they may use the four color printing method CMYK or Cyan, Magenta Yellow and Black. A lot of people do not know however that their imaging software is set to RGB or red, green blue when they do their designs. When this happens, the resulting prints on the CMYK printer should have a shifted hue because of the conversion. So set your software to CMYK first before really delving deep into your design. This should solve your color correction problem early on.

Problem 3: Blurry or non-crisp images.
Another common problem comes from the images in color printing designs. A lot of novices notice that their images that look good on the computer screen, come out very pixilated and distorted in the prints. This makes their printed materials look bad, and in some circumstances, makes the whole message harder to understand.

Solution: Use high resolution images.
The simple solution to this is to use high resolution pictures. Do not settle for just web based images. Use only images that come from your scanners or digital cameras. Make sure that at least, your images for color printing should be set at 300 dots per inch in resolution.

So those are the three most common problems in color printing these days. Hopefully the solutions above should help you figure out what to do with your own color printing problems. As a final note, do not hesitate to ask always when you do encounter something you do not understand in color printing. Knowing more about printing should really help you avoid mistakes and problems with color printing.
