how do you know if you are going to get the response you want?

When you launch any kind of marketing campaign the odds are good that you have a specific response you want to get from your customers.

The nature of this response is going to be based on the message you first send out to them. A strong marketing campaign is also going to take those successful messages and use them for more than just one type of ad campaign. If you have a strong message on your hand the best thing to do would be to use it spread across multiple different types of platforms over a span of months.

But here is the question: how do you know if you are going to get the response you want? You can guide things as much as possible, but that does not mean you can know for certain right away that you are going to achieve what you are hoping to.

To gauge your customer's reactions the most you should start out your marketing with a round of postcard printing.

The reason why I specifically suggest something like color postcards is because this particular marketing strategy used with direct mailing allows you a good deal of control over your marketing, and allows you to study how successful it was.

The control you have is over who you are sending out your postcards to, which is far more than you can say for a lot of other marketing pushes. You can put a poster up in a specific spot, but you cannot know the names of all the people who are going to see it. Postcards allow you to accomplish just that.

So you take your overall message and you put them on your postcards. You send them out to a test group of customers and you sit back to gauge their response. Most postcard printing campaigns work rather fast, which is what makes them so effective for doing this. If you have a strong call to action you can be sure that people will react quickly and come into your store shortly after getting the postcard, if they are going to come in at all.

Now you can see if the results are what you were hoping for. If your sales go up by the amount you were hoping they were you have solid evidence that your marketing message is just what you need to boost your sales. If you do not see any major change in your sales, it might be time to go back to the drawing board.

Given the easy ability this gives you to test out your marketing pushes before starting them, there is no reason to take a chance by enacting a wide spread marketing push without know what the results will be. All it takes is a little time and postcard printing to help you be sure that you are on the right path.
