Trying to stay focused when working from home can be extremely difficult. Lot's of distractions at home and even more when you're trying to work on the internet.

I have a friend who tells me that he is
always on the look out for new internet business
Opportunities to work from home or a homebased business. Last count, he was
running about 10 different opportunities, and of course, none
of them where paying anything. He was blamming the lack of a payoff to not
enough traffic, no serious leads and on and on. But he went on to say again,
that he's always on the watch for something newer, better, and
one where they guarantee you'll make money, in their mlm
opportunity. Not in writing of course.

He kept sending me all his information on every new site that fell into
his mailbox, asking what do you think about this one? Well, he's finally given
up on getting me to sign up any of
those, fly-by-night, startups. I have one basic company,
one training company, two blogs and a squidoo page, so in order
to keep focused, I see no way that I would want to add another company to my
list. That would be more of a disruption to me, just thinking how to promote another
internet business opportunity.

I'm always wondering how someone like my friend remembers what mlm business he
belongs to? Plus password, screen name and all the other information that you
have to fill in when you join. Also there seems to be only a handful of good
places on the internet to place a classified ad on anyway. That is, if you
want the ad to be seen.

Yes, there are probably thousands of classified sites to pick from but do you
have the time to place an ad in every city of every
state? Not me, takes too many hours and I consider posting there to be more
of a shotgun approach to advertising. It would be a full
time job trying to track all those ads.

I'm sure a lot of webmasters will tell you that their sites get thousands of
hits, but why is it, when you place your ad
there, you get nothing and that's even if the ad stays up for 7 days? When's
the last time you went on the internet and said I think I'll read some
classified ads? Never?

So back to the orignal question, how do you stay focused on your homebased business, when it's raining
"New Opportunities" all around you? I tend to clean out my inbox with one
hand on the mouse and ready to click the delete button. I average about
20 to 30 offers per day, either a new opportunity
or watch this 2 hour video, just made, chocked full of information, never
released before. You know the ones, Amazing discovery made by a pizza driver, after he tripped over a shrub and hit his head on the
concrete. Get in now, learn his secrets, and yada, yada, yada. Get the picture?

Staying focused is tough, when there is a hail storm of new opportunities every
where, and a flurry of b/s flying around making outlandish claims and exaggerated promises. We've all been
there, join on Monday and be filthy rich by Saturday. Did you join? Did you get
rich in one week? Never worked for me.

As you go about your work day, just keep the blinders on, stay focused on what
you need to do. Make a list before going to bed for the night, then
follow it like a road map And don't waiver for anything. Focus, focus and stay
focused.
