I've been following the examination on the
Internet and in the forums as to which is more effective, Online Marketing or Offline Marketing and it's been an remarkable
debateto say the least. The wagons are in a circle and there
are arrows flying everywhere.
Some seem to think that you can't sponsor someone or build a connection with them, unless you are toe to toe, and nose to nose.
The dispute against off line sponsoring is the limit to the
number of persons that you can deal with and talk to in a given day.
Remember the days when you were advised to make a list of friends and
family, then go show them the plan? Problem is, New associates don't understand any of that. They are still wondering how do you make money,
especially if you told them it's not a selling business.
I know that a good sponsor should accompany them, and do the presentation, but
really, how many of you received a starter kit, and then watched your sponsor
drive away?
Of course, another example given in the debate, was; if you
opened an ice cream store, you would definitely tell your warm market about it;
warm market, being family and friends. You probably wouldn't offer them a job
nor, would you beg them to buy from you. But you would want to let
them know about your business. Dale Maloney, Author of, I Could Have Quit
$7,000,000.00 Ago, always said that network marketing companies have
distributors, called Secret Agents, because no one knows they are in the
business. Rather difficult to make money if no one knows that
you have a business.
The argument of the New School Marketers is the fact that you have so many
Prospects to choose from on the internet, and from all over and
around the world. It's just as easy to sponsor someone in South Africa as it is
to sponsor someone in your own back yard. Now with the Guru's offering training through the use of different websites for the new marketers coming aboard, it's easier than ever to train your downline. Just look at the
wealth of knowledgeput out by Mike Dillard, Jonathan Budd, Mlm
Lead System Pro, and many many other sites as well. The Gurus finally woke up
to the fact that if you share their knowledge with the Newbies,
erosion in their downlines might slow to only a very small percentage dropping
off.
What if you combined Offline Marketing with Online Marketing? Combining the two
is the best of both worlds in my opinion. For Example: When I go to the gym, I
toss a few business cards into some of the empty lockers and I don't iincorporate a phone number, but I do have my website url on the card.
That gives them a place to go to and get all the information they need to make
an sharp decision. Also put a card in those,"no postage
necessary envelopes," that come with junk mail and mail it back. What about the
slot at the gas pumps where you normally insert your credit card, leave a card
there. Someone has to remove it to use the slot, now you have your
spill in their hand.
If you combine the two, Offline Marketing with Online marketing it seems to be
the best of both worlds. The hottest leads to work with are
the ones that you generate. When buying leads
or lead list, you really don't know how hot or how cold that list is really or how many times it's been sold and resold.
