Can you make the present perfect? Perhaps it is more about accepting the present and how it support where you currently are.

The present is perfect? For most of us this is a difficult concept to grasp. If we are not happy and wanting more then how can the present be perfect? Maybe it is less about making the present perfect, and more about acceptance and trust that your current situation supports where you are right now.

Here are some strategies to help you release the struggle of the present while working towards your future.

1. Be grateful for your current situation. Most of us are very good at describing what we do not want and spend energy focusing on what does not work for us. What if you shift the focus? Examine what you do not like from how it does not serve you to how it does. Your current situation supports you, if it did not it would not exist in your life. Get in touch with how it helps you and show your gratitude towards it.

2. Begin to develop healthy habits. When you understand how your situation supports you, you have discovered a need in your life right now. Focus on how to get those needs met in a healthy way. For instance, if you eat too much when you are stressed develop a healthy habit by doing a five-minute meditation before dinner to calm yourself before you eat.

3. Stop the Race. Having time specific goals is very effective. It can also create tunnel vision and major pressure. Give yourself permission to relax and take the pressure off by shifting your focus to moving each day towards your goal. It is a gentler way to accomplish your goals and you don't miss as much along the way. Stop trying to force it and trust that it will happen for you in the perfect time.

4. Listen to yourself. You already know exactly what you need, you just are not listening. Your body and mind are telling you all you need to know to support your new intentions. You are given messages all the time about what path to take, start listening. Develop your awareness and listen to yourself, if something feels good go towards it, if it does not stop.

5. Trust your comfort Zone. Do what makes you comfortable. Figure out what works well for you and stop judging it. If you are trying to start a new business and the thought of cold calling people give you knots in your stomach, why are you forcing yourself? All that does is stifle your creativity and turn your desired creation into a chore. Why not trying giving a talk or writing an article? Sometimes the simple answer right in front of you. Your comfort zone will adapt with you when you are ready.

Acceptance is about trust in you. You know what you need. You are in the right place because it best supports what you currently need. Acceptance of the present does not mean that you do not grow and change, it means you understand and work with the tools you have available right now. Trust that as you grow those tools will grow along with you.
