Not getting it done? Blast through your barriers with these 2 simple, quick techniques. Finding yourself facing tasks you just can't seem to get to or get through? Blast through your barriers with these two simple techniques.
1. Divide and conquer
Any task, whether big or small can generally be broken down into at least a few steps. When you find yourself avoiding a specific task or project, take a few minutes to write down everything you need to do to get it done. When you complete just one of the steps you've identified, you'll feel a sense of relief that you've already made progress on that task and moving on to finishing the other steps will seem easier.
2. Check and Track
Check off each step as you complete it so you can visibly track your progress. Some people chuckle about this, but adding things to your list that you've already completed really can increase your sense of accomplishment and give you that little boost of motivation to get your task done! If you've written a list of steps, that's an initial step you've already completed! Don't ignore this because it is what is helping you move forward! Add it to your list, check it off, and celebrate the fact that you've initiated your task or project!
