Tips to maintaining a cleaning routine so that you only use a little of your time scrubbing! Can you believe that in just a few minutes each day, you can have and keep a clean house? Yea right you say. That is how I would have responded a few years ago too. But it is true. The key to doing housework and never getting too tired of it, it keep a schedule. Sit down and write out a daily schedule. And I don't mean, write 8:05 scrub toilet, 8:10 mop floors. Just a simple easy to follow schedule like, Monday diningroom. Then on Monday work in the diningroom, straighten it up then spend 15 minutes organizing or deep cleaning it. You may not get it all finished, don't push yourself too much. It will be there next Monday. Schedule out each room or area for a different day of the week. Work on your livingroom at the end of the week so that it will be clean and fresh for weekend guests. Work on your kitchen on Sunday so that it will be ready for your week ahead.
Once you get you daily tasks written down and fine tuned, work on your tasks that you must do each day. These tasks should not total up to more than 30 minutes. Things like, lay out meat for dinner, take laundry to laundry room and sort, straighten up each room and wipe down counters. If you see something that needs cleaning, make a note of it on your calander beside that rooms day. You'll get to it eventually, don't get off task and spend the day doing something that you ran across, and then the rest of the day stressed out because you did not get to your daily task. Your everyday tasks should include exercising, a few minutes of reading or internet, and generally taking care of yourself.
Finally, you need to make a list of those tasks that must be done once a month. These tasks include things like change filters, flip mattress, change air freshners, mailing cards for the month, cleaning out your coupons and phone calls. List the ones you can think of off hand, then add to it as needed.
This easy to follow plan should make life a little easier to enjoy. It sure has helped me!
