At present the company sells products in the U.S., Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, New Zealand, the U.K., the Netherlands, Jamaica and Singapore. It was recognized in 1994 as one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. for five consecutive years, and it has seen 25+ years of growth since 1985.
Going beyond using just the melaleuca plant extracts, the company is now offering an expanded array of products including personal care items, cosmetics, cleaners and supplements. The company has gotten many of its products certified as organic and kosher.
Contrasting to other multi-level marketing companies, Melaleuca has tried extraordinarily hard to avoid the abuses and the damage that is often inherent in the industry. In regard to inventory, the company does not require executives to maintain and inventory and prohibits inventory loading and limits the marketing chain. In order for a marketing executive to earn a commission, he or she must produce at least 35 product points per month (roughly $50 worth of sales).
