The Wisdom Of The Body
by Tarnie Fulloon
If you resonate with any of these statements, you are ready for a deeper relationship with your body… a relationship that could literally change your life.
Do you ever hear yourself or other women say, "I am too much in my head"? Do you have pain in your body or a nagging symptom that you would just love to heal for the very last time? Do any of these statements ring a bell?
-You want to access your creativity and your life purpose, but it feels
elusive.
-You are fatigued, but can't seem to rest.
-You have health issues like diabetes, depression, anxiety, or body
weight.
-You have tried everything but the issue, pain, feeling is still there.
-When people say "be in your body", you are not quite sure what they
mean.
-You can give to others, but find it difficult to receive.
If you resonate with any of these statements, you are ready for a deeper relationship with your body… a relationship that could literally change your life.
We live in a time where the concept of mind-body is better understood. We've done years of schooling, therapy, coaching, workshops, and seminars - with varying degrees of success. We've read self-help books and are well versed in the power of our thoughts to create what we want in life - career success, healing, better relationships, living our life's purpose.
Many of us are very adept at working with the mind, but how many of us really know our bodies? How many of us truly understand the phenomenal power, wisdom, guidance and healing potential that exist in our body… just waiting to be tapped?
The body is so much more than we may realize. It doesn't lie! It holds the truth, knowledge, wisdom and information we need to heal. It is the gateway to our intuition and the source of our power. It holds our most heartfelt dreams, and the keys for how to realize them. The body also holds our emotions, experiences, our life histories and traumas. All of this, our joys, our sorrows and our divine life purpose, is literally stored in the cells of the body. Amazing, isn't it?
As women especially, it is critical that we develop a deeper relationship with our bodies. It is critical to learn to listen to the messages it is constantly giving. We must feel, express and release the layers of emotions and experiences that have been stored in our bodies, holding us back from the love, health, prosperity and life we deserve.
Often the body messages can be subtle and quiet at first. However, if ignored or suppressed, over time they will become stronger and stronger until they become "issues" that must be addressed such as pain, disease, emotional distress, addictions, relationship challenges, etc.
I see this all the time in my practice. Clients come in with pain or a symptom, anything from - a herniated disc, obesity, anxiety, you name it. And despite the fact that they have tried many approaches and treatments, "it just won't go away". In our work together, we nearly always uncover an emotion, trauma, or judgment that they often were not consciously aware of. Even if our "mind" is not aware of it, our body ALWAYS registers it. Once these are acknowledged and released from the body, amazing things begin to happen… physical and emotional conditions heal and transform, our energy and vitality is restored, and we awaken our spiritual selves.
Truly, your own body can become your greatest ally if you are willing to give it the time and space to share its healing wisdom. As Eckhart Tolle writes in The Power of Now, "Do not turn your attention elsewhere in your search for the Truth, for it is nowhere else to be found but within your body".
So, start connecting with your body more deeply today. Take time to slow down, to breathe, and notice what sensations and feelings are present. As you connect with your body, you will gradually learn to trust and act on its inherent intelligence. It takes courage and commitment, but the rewards are worth it. By embracing the information and wisdom our bodies give us, we can truly shine and live the life we were destined to live in harmony, prosperity and joy.
